MEDICARE PART B

Medicare Part B (medical insurance) is part of Original Medicare and covers medical services and supplies that are medically necessary to diagnose or treat your medical condition and that meet accepted standards of medical practice. This can include outpatient care, preventive services, ambulance services, and durable medical equipment.

In order to enroll or maintain Medicare billing privileges, all DMEPOS (durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies) suppliers, including pharmacy, must comply with the Medicare program's supplier standards and quality standards to become accredited.

DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

Thrifty White Pharmacy offers a variety of durable medical supplies including crutches, canes, nebulizers and walkers. Pharmacy staff will instruct you how to use the equipment and answer any questions you may have. Thrifty White Pharmacy will also bill your Medicaid and Medicare insurance for these items.

DRUG INTERVENTIONS

Whether purchasing prescription medications or over-the-counter medications, you need to be aware of any negative drug interactions. Our pharmacists and pharmacy computer software work to prevent these interactions from occurring. Remember to let your pharmacist know if you are taking any over-the-counter medications or if you are receiving any prescriptions from another pharmacy. We are committed to your health outcomes and our goal is to prevent any adverse drug reactions.

PHARMACY COUNSELING

Thrifty White Pharmacists are available when you have questions concerning your medications, or if you need assistance with purchasing over-the-counter medications and supplies. Our pharmacists will take the time to show you how to use the medications or supplies. Just ask to speak with the pharmacist when you are in the pharmacy or when calling on the telephone.

BILL OF PATIENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Thrifty White Pharmacy has an obligation to protect and promote the rights of our patients as outlined in the Bill of Patient Rights and Responsibilities.

NATIONAL SUPPLIER STANDARDS

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN

Thrifty White Pharmacy has a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan in place in the event of any disaster or catastrophic event, including fire to our facility, chemical spills in the community, floods, tornados, and community evacuations. Our primary goal is to continue to serve your health care needs. It is your responsibility to contact Thrifty White Pharmacy, 763-513-4300 or 6701 Evenstad Drive, Suite 100, Maple Grove, MN 55369, regarding any medications or supplies you may require when there is a threat of disaster or inclement weather so that you have enough medication or supplies to sustain you.

If a disaster occurs, follow instructions from the civil authorities in your area. Thrifty White Pharmacy will utilize every resource available to continue to provide service to the community. However, there may be circumstances where Thrifty White Pharmacy cannot meet your needs due to the scope of the disaster. In that case, you must utilize the resources of your local rescue or medical facility. Thrifty White Pharmacy will work closely with authorities to ensure your safety.
